The Tonband app
Recordings and settings
Tonband records the audio of the apps you select and, if you choose, your microphone. All audio is processed on your Mac and saved only there, in Music › Tonband. Your settings (selected apps, microphone, format, shortcut) are stored locally on your Mac. None of this is ever sent to us or anyone else.
Permissions
- System Audio Recording — to capture the audio of the apps you choose.
- Microphone — only if you include your microphone in a recording.
- Notifications — only to tell you, in the free version, that a recording is about to reach its time limit.
You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security and System Settings › Notifications.
Network access
The app does not connect to any server of ours. Its only network access is to Apple's App Store, to load the price of Tonband Pro and to process or restore a purchase.
Purchases
Tonband is distributed through the Mac App Store. Downloads and purchases of Tonband Pro are processed entirely by Apple; we do not receive your name, Apple Account or payment details. Apple provides us only with aggregated, anonymous sales and download statistics. Apple's handling of your data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
Crash reports
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in macOS (System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports. We use them only to fix bugs.
